Mission Statement

We are monks who wholeheartedly choose to seek and depend upon God the Father as disciples of Christ in the Holy Spirit. We do this by living the Rule of Saint Benedict under the Abbort of Saint Andrew Svorad Abbey.

We give witness to Christ's Kingdom by conversion and obedience in community life of praising God through liturgy, lectio, silence, work and fellowship.

We share the word of God and our Benedictine presence by fostering an environment for others to encounter God. We do this through such work and service that is supported by our community and compatible with its apostolate: hospitality, Catholic education, parish ministry, and pastoral service.

Saint Benedict of Norcia (480-543)
Founder of the Benedictine Order

The Benedictine Order founded at Monte Cassino, Italy is the oldest religious order in Christendom.

In his Rule for monks, Benedict urged monks to "prefer nothing to the love of Christ".

If you feel drawn by your love of Christ to live a life of prayer and work as a Benedictine Monk or as a lay oblate of Saint Benedict at home, please contact one of the monks listed below.
