We celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday today with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after 11:30am Mass, Confessions at 2:00pm and special devotions at 3:00pm which include veneration of the Divine Mercy image, solemn chanting of the Divine Chaplet, and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Come and avail yourselves of the stream of mercy that flows from the Heart of Jesus out of love for us. When we honor Christ’s suffering, we cannot help but be graced and blessed.
A most sincere expression of gratitude is in order for all in the parish who made our Holy Week and Easter truly remarkable and meaningful. Those who prepare the palms, stayed after the Good Friday evening service to assist the Altar & Rosary Society and Knights of Columbus in decorating the Church, the music ministry under the direction of David Bird, Mary Zabrecky who prepared our RCIC candidates who received Easter Sacraments, and those who prepared the Easter Fire and other necessities for the ceremonies are truly to be congratulated for a job well done. This help truly blesses our parish by enabling us to enter into the mysteries we celebrate during this holy time. We also thank those who sent cards and well wishes to us this Easter. Your affection means so very much to us. May the Risen Jesus bless your homes and families with his peace and joy.
We also extend our prayerful best wishes to all those who received the Sacrament of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. As well as our 8th graders who will be Confirmed this Wednesday and our 2nd graders who will receive Jesus for the first time this Saturday. May they live the new life of grace into which they have been initiated in all its fullness and may they find in our Assumption parish family a source of spiritual growth and support.
