Today after all the Masses there will be a representative from ‘Holy Land Gifts’ to display their hand-carved olive wood statues and plaques for purchase.  The proceeds from these assists in supporting Christian Families in Bethlehem who are struggling to make ends meet.  Holy Land Gifts represent over 150 such families who make their living by selling olive wood handcrafts and religious articles.  When you purchase one of these articles, you are helping artisans in the Holy Land provide for their families who live and work with dignity in a land fraught with tension.  Thank you for your support.

Some weeks ago I received a call from Fr. Bruce Riebe, Pastor of St. Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church in Brecksville inviting us to join with his parish in prayer to honor St. Joseph.  Because St. Joseph is the patron of his parish, he is inviting the neighboring parishes to all of their observances in honor of the saint.

On Friday evening, April 30, at 7:00pm there will be an Akathist hymn in honor of St. Joseph at St. Joseph Church in Brecksville.  All are invited to participate.  This is a good way to experience other forms of prayer that we usually don’t get to see.  Hope to see many of you there.

On Saturday, May 1st there will be a Mass in the Extraordinary Form at 12:00 noon in our church to observe the Feast of St. Joseph the Workman.  Many people were spiritually fulfilled by the Mass on March 19th and asked for another one on this date.  All are welcome to join in honoring St. Joseph by these events.

Monday, May 3rd, at 6:30pm Assumption will have the traditional May Crowning to honor Mary as the Queen of May.  All are invited to come and show our devotion and affection to our Heavenly Mother.
