February 19, 2023

This week we welcome Fr. Joseph Tuscan, OFM Cap. Who will deliver our Parish Mission ‘Repent and Believe’. The following is the schedule

Sunday, February 19th

- 6:30pm Confessions; 7:00pm Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Discourse, Benediction, Confessions after Benediction.

Monday, February 20th

- 6:30pm Confessions; 7:00pm Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Discourse, Benediction, Confessionsafter Benediction.

Tuesday, February 21st

- 6:30pm Confessions; 7:00pm Mass with Discourse, Conferral of Apostolic Blessing that grants a plenary indulgence for those attending the Mission. One must confess their sins, receive Holy Communion in the state of grace and pray for the intentions of the Holy Father to receive the indulgence.

It is my sincere hope that all will avail themselves of the graces this mission will impart to our parish. I also ask that no other activity be scheduled during the evenings of the Mission. This way all are able to participate in it with no distractions. This is a good way for us to set the tone for a good, healthy Lenten Season. To celebrate a good Easter, a good Lent and Holy week is essential. This mission

will take us into Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Mass with the Blessing and distribution of Ashes will be at the following times: 6:30 and 8:30am, 1:00 and 7:00pm.

Ash Wednesday is also a day of Fast and Abstinence. Fasting includes 1 full meal and just eating a little to maintain strength. All Catholics from ages 18-59 are bound to fast except in case of sickness. Abstinence means that we eat no meat or byproducts of meat. This means poultry as well. All Catholics 14 years of age and older must abstain unless dispensed by the proper authority.

All Catholics must make their Easter Duty. This involves celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation and receiving the Eucharist at least once from Ash Wednesday through Trinity Sunday. Please make every effort to fulfill this.

May you have a good and Holy Lent.
