February 21, 2021

Congratulations to our two young parishioners who were numbered among the Elect last Sunday at the Rite of Election here at Assumption.  The elect are catechumens who are in the last stage of instruction and preparation for receiving the sacrament of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist on Holy Saturday.  Please remember them in your prayers as they journey toward Easter Sacraments.

Today, we begin the Annual Appeal for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Cleveland.  I will speak at all Masses today concerning this most worthy cause.  Cleveland was the first diocese to establish a network of charity and good works that benefits so many people today.

Lent is a season of giving—giving up, giving in, forgiving and giving to others.  Please consider Catholic Charities for a special donation this weekend as the 2021 Catholic Charities Appeal takes place here in our parish.

Catholic Charities started 110 years ago to meet the needs of people here in Northeast Ohio, offering food, shelter, guidance and support.  Today, our Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Cleveland serves over 300,000 people each year and provides 143 different service programs.  The in pew appeal takes place today. Please be generous.  You can direct your pledge to a certain area of need, & pledges can be paid in monthly or quarterly installments, making it easier to be charitable. See the envelope for details, every donation is important.  Thank God for the blessings given to you by sharing with others. If you have already made your 2021 pledge by mail, thank you for your commitment to help us help your neighbors in need.
