The Seven Sacraments are gifts from Christ Himself for the sanctification of His Church. "They are Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders and Anointing of the Sick. The Seven sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of the Christian life; they give birth and increase, healing and Mission to the Christian's life of faith. There is thus a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of the spiritual life." CCC1210
Preparation for receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist is a two year process.
Students must be enrolled in Grade 1 at Assumption in order to prepare for Sacraments in Grade 2.
In Grade 1 children learn about the meaning of their Baptism, the basic prayers of our faith, the Mass, and what it means to live as Jesus taught us.
In the first semester of Grade 2, the children are prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and celebrate the Sacrament in January.
The date for celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation in 2020 is Saturday, January 11, at 10AM.
During the Second Grade PSR parents attend 3 classes/activities with their children to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
