January 31, 2021

This week is Catholic Schools Week, we take time to celebrate the achievements of our Catholic educational system and to pray for its continued success.  As a parish, we are privileged to operate a Catholic school as part of our program in partnership with St. Albert the Great.  This school is the main vehicle by which we educate our youth in the Catholic Faith, thus assuring our parish’s vibrancy for generations to come.

A Catholic faith is important because it helps to sustain the faith in every student that is engendered from their baptism by dedicated, faith-filled parents.  While there is a sacrifice involved, the efforts made to send your children to Catholic school is well worth the investment.  Stop by and see the wonderful things happening at Assumption Academy.  We are accepting registrations for the up-coming 2021-2022 school year.

This Tuesday, February 2nd, is Candlemas Day.  Candles will be blessed at the 8:30am Mass.  All are invited to bring candles they would like to be blessed at these Masses.

The next day, February 3rd, is the Feast of St. Blaise.  The Blessing of the Throat will take place at both the 6:30am and 8:30am Masses, as well as the Masses the weekend of February 6th & 7th.  Due to the pandemic, there will be no individual blessing of throats.  The St. Blaise Blessing will be a general blessing such as we do on the weekend Masses.  Let’s pray that this is the only year we have to do things this way.
