During this time of the Coronavirus pandemic, I have been praying for all of you  It is my special hope that all of you remain healthy, that the children are on task with their schoolwork, and that you have found some extra time for prayer and recollection during the slower pace of life that this situation has imposed on us.

With the onset of Holy Week which begins next Sunday with Palm Sunday, there are many questions, no doubt.  How will we as a parish celebrate these great days of our salvation?  Perhaps I can provide some concrete answers with this column.  The live streaming of Mass will continue through Easter Sunday.  This will include the ceremonies of Holy Week adapted for celebration without a congregation.

The Divine Mercy Chapel will close at 3:00pm Thursday and will reopen Easter Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m.

Blessed palm will be available on Sunday, April 5 from 10:30 am -1:00 pm. You can drive through and pick up blessed palm either by the garages or the porch to the school building.  To pick up palm, please enter through the south driveway. The garages will be to your left when you get to the bottom of the drive.  It is a sharp left and the garages will be on your driver’s side . If you receive palm from the garage station, then make the next left up the driveway to exit the campus.  If you receive palm at the school station, please exit by going around the back of the church building and use the north driveway between the church and the convent building. Both stations will have a basket to provide you with an opportunity to deposit your church support.  Thank you for your generosity.

The blessing of the First Meal of Easter that takes place usually on Holy Saturday afternoon is sadly cancelled for this year.  Included in next week’s bulletin is a ceremony that you can use at home as a table grace for your first meal of Easter. Confessions and emergency sick calls are by appointment only.

While this is far from ideal or what we are use to, we are doing the best we can to make these days of our salvation festive the best way we can.  When things happen beyond our control, we must adapt.  Blessings and thanks to you for your patience and understanding in these matters.  Let us pray for one another.
