It is with great joy that we welcome Bishop Edward Malesic as the Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland, of which Assumption is a part. As bishop of Greensburg where he was stationed for the last 5 years, people loved him, as well as the clergy.  Everyone was sorry to see him go. I’m sure that will bode well for us as he comes to shepherd us as bishop. We at Assumption will have the privilege of hosting Bishop Malesic on March 9 of next year when he comes to confirm our 8th graders. Let us offer our prayers that the Holy Spirit guide him in his duties as Bishop of Cleveland.

This Saturday we welcome our 3rd graders to the Altar of God for the first time to receive Jesus in Holy Communion.  They have waited for such a long time for this sacred moment of encounter with the Risen Jesus and they are very excited for this special day.  We pray that their hearts may grow in love for Jesus and that he bless them especially on their First Holy Communion.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Masses have been live streamed daily from Church as a means of connection with the parish.  Over the past several months, while there were many who clicked on to view Mass for a few minutes, perhaps only 2 or 3 remained on line to view the whole Mass.  In addition, our videographer’s work schedule has become more demanding of his time and he is finding it increasingly difficult to accommodate our schedule.  This necessitates us pursuing other options for making the Liturgy available on line.  We offer a debt of gratitude to Anthony for working with us all these months and wish him well as he pursues his endeavors.
