Staff Member: Barbara Tomusko
My husband Gregg and I have been parishioners of Assumption Church since 1993. We have two grown children, Greg who lives in Virginia with his wife, and Emily who is currently a Grad School Assistant at John Carroll University.
I hold a BA in Education from Ursuline college. Along with my duties as DRE, in 2007 I became a member of the Parish Pastoral Council and the Spiritual Life Commission. Prior to my appointment as DRE at Assumption, I volunteered as a PSR Catechist for ten years, was employed as a teacher for the Cleveland Public Schools, and a substitute teacher at Lawrence School and the BBHCSD.
I am responsible for the religious formation of the children of the parish who attend Public School, and for those in the Day School in grades 2 and 8, preparing them for the Sacraments. In addition, I also organize such activities as the Catechetical Sunday Commissioning of Catechists, Blessing of Pets, Bambinelli Sunday, Pre K Sunday PSR Program, Friday morning School Masses, Advent Gift Shop, Sacrament Masses, the Lending Library, May Crowning Devotion, Vacation Bible School, and more recently spearheading the REBOOT Live event at Assumption in May of 2016 and the Healing Mass with Abbot Clement in October of 2016 with a host of enthusiastic volunteers of the parish assisting to make these events successful.
