Before we know it, Lent will be well on its way. It's time to formulate our Lenten resolutions and get the good works we will be performing during this Holy Time in good order. Here are some things we might consider. Ash Wednesday, the 1st day of Lent for Roman Catholics, is on March 5th. Masses and the Distribution of Blessed Ashes will be 6:30 and 8:30 a.m., 1:00 and 7:00 p.m. Also, the Altar Rosary Society is sponsoring its traditional Day of Recollection on Ash Wednesday. Deacon Kyle Rosser from St. Albert the Great Parish will be the Spiritual Director for the day which begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes with the Mass at 1:00 p.m. Also, each Wednesday of Lent there will be the Way of the Cross Devotions at 6:30 p.m. followed by a series of talks on a few of the Wednesdays. Come join us this Lenten Season.
In a few short weeks Lent will begin and so will our Fabulous Fish Fries. Naturally, we are in need of volunteers to help serve, cook, clean-up, and dish duty. Please consider lending a hand to assist us in whatever capacity you are able. People come from far and near to enjoy themselves and get a first-rate meal at a good price. What makes the fish fries really fabulous, however, is the willingness of the parishioners to get involved and give of themselves to assure that the fish fries are successful. Confirmation candidates and those needing service hours - this is a good opportunity for you to get those needed service hours. Drop a note in the collection basket with your name and phone number or call the rectory or answer on line if you are interested or, better yet, sign up on line. Thank you for all you do to make our fish fries a success.
