This past Wednesday, classes at Assumption Academy, partners with St. Albert the Great School, commenced for the 2024-2025 academic year. We welcome our young boys and girls from preschool through eighth grade who will be experiencing the learning process and pray that the Holy Spirit will guide them and their teachers in the pursuit of knowledge. We are fully confident that this will be a good year that will contain many blessed moments. We thank our parents who entrusted their children to us for their education. I am firmly convinced that there is no education better than a Catholic education to provide the needed foundation in faith and values for a young man or woman to succeed in life. We as a parish are blessed to be able to provide this education for our children. While the demands that such an undertaking may present from time to time demand sacrifice, it is well worth the effort when you witness the results. Many thanks to those parishioners who generously support our school; May God who is not outdone in generosity, reward you for your goodness.
We welcome Mr. Brian Csornok to Assumption Parish as our new Director of Youth and Young Adults Ministry. Brian is a graduate of the Franciscan University of Steubenville and his first position as a director in ministry is with us. We extend to Brian our support as he continues the good work that Ryan Bagley began and adds new ideas of his own to minister to our young people here at Assumption Parish.
I received a note from Srs. Marian and Elizabeth, OSB thanking us for our hospitality and generosity to the AIM Benedictine Missions that helps establish Benedictine Communities in third world countries. The sisters are members of St. Benedict Monastery in Erie, PA.
The weekend of September 7-8, 2024, we welcome Fr. George Knaub, OMI who will be speaking to us from the Unbound Ministry. Unbound partners with poor families in third world nations and enables them to achieve basic needs that they are unable to reach because of their situation. Fr. George will be speaking at all the Masses in two weekends.
