Funeral Planning

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4

Life and death are part of the journey we all share. The loss of a loved one brings sorrow, change, and many difficult decisions. Through our faith in Jesus Christ, we find hope in His promise of eternal life. At the Church of the Assumption, we are here to accompany you and your family with prayer, compassion, and support as you prepare to celebrate the Funeral Mass for your loved one.

Whether you are making arrangements after the loss of a loved one or planning ahead, this page has been created to guide you through the funeral planning process. Before meeting with a member of our parish staff, we encourage you to review the resources below and prayerfully consider your selections. You are welcome to make your choices in advance or simply use these materials to become familiar with the Funeral Mass.

If a Death Has Occurred

Please accept our deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one. Know that you and your family are in our prayers during this difficult time.

  2. The funeral home will coordinate with the Church of the Assumption to schedule the Funeral Mass.
  3. Please wait until the funeral arrangements have been confirmed with the parish before publishing an obituary or death notice with funeral details.
  4. A parish representative will contact your family to assist with planning the Funeral Mass, including Scripture readings, music, and other liturgical details.
