Funeral Masses are typically celebrated Monday through Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Special arrangements may be made when necessary.
Funeral Masses are not celebrated during Holy Week or on Holy Days of Obligation. During Holy Week, a Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass, including the Liturgy of the Word and Final Commendation, may be celebrated. A Memorial Mass may be scheduled at a later date.
Ordinarily, one of the priests of the Church of the Assumption celebrates the Funeral Mass. A priest who is a family member or friend is welcome to celebrate or concelebrate with prior arrangements.
The parish provides musicians and cantors for Funeral Masses. Requests for outside musicians or soloists should be discussed with the Music Director before making arrangements.
Funeral stipends are arranged through the funeral home. Please consult with your funeral director for the stipend cost.
When available, Funeral Masses may be livestreamed for family members and friends who are unable to attend in person.
You may have questions about Catholic funerals, cremation, Funeral Masses, and other aspects of the funeral process. The Diocese of Cleveland provides answers to many common questions about Catholic funeral practices and planning.
