St. Vincent De Paul

If you are looking to become the Hands and Feet of Christ as you serve your neighbor in need, the St. Vincent DePaul Society is an amazing place to start. This organization seeks to assist both those who are in poverty or simply in financial need through supporting them with rent, clothing, food, or anything else that they might need in a time of crisis. An extension of the Assumption Parish Community, the Saint Vincent DePaul society seeks to meet the needs of parishioners in need first, but will also seek to serve the larger Broadview Heights community, sometimes joining other churches across denominational lines to do so. Indeed, to this extent, the St. Vincent Depaul Society is both missionary and ecumenical in regard to its outreach.

“You have to be willing to want to serve, and it’s hard. You have to listen to how God is asking you to serve, and you have to open your heart,” Paul Vopat said in regard to one’s role in the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Indeed, Open Hands and an Open Heart are quite the pleasing sacrifice unto the Lord, whose Sacred Heart is constantly bent low to the widow, the orphaned, and the oppressed.
