August 24, 2025
This past Wednesday, classes at Assumption Academy, partners with St. Albert the Great School, commenced for the 2025-2026 academic year. We welcome our young boys and girls from preschool through eighth grade who will be experiencing the learning process and pray that the Holy Spirit will guide them and their teachers in their pursuit of knowledge. We are fully confident that this will be a good year that will contain many blessed moments. We thank our parents who entrusted their children to us for their education. I am firmly convinced that there is no education better than a Catholic education to provide the needed foundation in faith and values for a young man or woman to succeed in life. We as a parish are blessed to be able to provide this education for our children. While the demands that such an undertaking may present from time-to-time demand sacrifice, it is well worth the effort when you witness the results. Many thanks to those parishioners who generously support our school; May God who is not outdone in generosity, reward you for your goodness.
A special note of thanks for all those who participated in the Parish Mission delivered by Rev. George Knab, OMI this past week in preparation for the Feast of the Assumption. For those who attended, it was a blessed experience that showered many graces upon them and was time well spent. I also would like to thank all those who worked to prepare for the various liturgies that were a part of the mission, especially The Liturgy Committee, and Music Ministry. God bless you for a job well done.
We will be having Solemn Eucharistic Devotions on September 14-15, 2025. The 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass on September 14, which opens the devotions, will be a Mass with the Anointing of the Sick. After Mass, The Blessed Sacrament will be carried through the group of those anointed. The Blessed Sacrament will then remain exposed on the altar for adoration until 5:30 p.m. when the Eucharist will be placed in the Divine Mercy Chapel until 9:00 p.m.
On Monday, September 15th, the Eucharist will again be exposed on the altar in church immediately after Mass until 7:00 p.m. when there will be special devotions, procession and Benediction. There will be sign-up sheets for those who wish to commit themselves to a period of adoration and prayer. These will be available at the entrances of the church this weekend. Please take some time to spend with Jesus during these sacred moments. It would be really special of families committed themselves to spend time with Jesus our Eucharistic King. I hope that as many as possible participate in this special time of honoring our Eucharistic Jesus.
