In consultation with the Office of Catholic Education, Assumption Parish leadership is announcing the decision to resume parish oversight and administration of Assumption Academy effective June 5, 2026. This choice of a new direction likewise concludes our fruitful partnership with St. Albert the Great Parish. Begun in 2018, that partnership saved Assumption Academy from closure and revitalized it to new levels of achievement in academics, staffing, and enrollment. We extend heartfelt gratitude to the leadership and
community of the St. Albert the Great Parish and School in helping us achieve this solid foundation.

This transition coincides with Principal Rick Kaliszewski’s move to St. Albert the Great Catholic School on July 1, 2026. We are deeply grateful for his six years of faith-filled leadership. The search for our next principal is underway in partnership with the Diocesan Office of Catholic Education and will be announced in early 2026 or sooner.

Though the formal partnership concludes, our collaboration in Catholic education will continue through the Diocese of Cleveland’s Keeping the Faith strategic plan with area parishes. We look forward to building on these shared successes and continuing our mission in support of Catholic schools.
